About this Program:

thirdDevice.com and ixFlashcard were created to help those individuals with busy lives
and limited time to study. The idea was to give these individuals the ability to easily take
education tools with
them. For example, allowing them to study a set of flashcards while waiting for a train, or in line
at a sandwich shop. In this spirit, we are in the process of expanding the suite of learning tools
and content that is available.
However, our mission remains to provide easy access to education and
learning tools for all individuals. So we have created this donation program to help support education programs
for children all over the world. As a group of programmers, we are fully aware that we can make the
greatest impact through what we do best (we like to think that is programming) and therefore feel that
the best way for us to contribute is through this program. We may not personally
hand a needy child a book, or help build a library - but we can support these
activities through this donation program.

Frequently Asked Questions:
|
|
How much is donated, and what do you mean by proceeds?
We will be donating 10% of the total purchase price (after transaction fees) for each purchase made through this site (the purchase must be made through this site).
Why 10%, why not more?
We are donating 10% of the total amount that thirdDevice.com would receive for each purchase. We expect that the remainder of the purchase price will go towards operating expenses and development expenses. If we see enough support and are able to cover all of our expenses, we will revisit this allocaiton and consider a different amount.
Which organizations will the donations go to?
We are currently donating to Room to Read, and NCFL. For more information on these organizations, please see their respective websites at: Room to Read and the National Center for Family Literacy.
What if I would prefer the donation to go to another organization?
We are not currently set up to do that, however, please feel free to contact us with suggestions for other organizations and we will consider adding them to our program.
How do you split the donations between the organizations?
We are currently splitting them equally - 50/50.
